Health Care Training a Great Option This Fall

Victoria, BC - September 6, 2009 - It's back-to-school season, but this year, it's not exactly business as usual. Post-secondary institutions in the province are anticipating increased enrolment figures, as British Columbians weather the effects of a higher unemployment rate and a tight job market. According to Victoria-based UCW Academy of Health, Vancouver Island students looking for faster training options should consider a career in health care.

"Health care workers are in high demand in British Columbia," says Dr. David Strong, president of UCW Academy of Health. "Recent reports have stated that employment in this sector will continue to grow even through the recession as current employees retire and new jobs are created. We want to supply the highest quality of graduates to meet the needs of both the service providers and the patients."

UCW Academy of Health offers various health care  programs such as Community Health Care, Health Care Assistant, Medical Records Clerk, and Addictions and Community Services. Each program prepares students for life-long careers in the health care field by providing a focused practical education in specific niche areas of the industry. Students also develop a fundamental knowledge of the local health care community.
