Social Service Worker OpportunitiesThe James Bay Community Project, in addition to providing primary health care services, offers parenting programs: drop-in centre for parents and their children, counselling, parenting workshops and support groups. Social service staff members also deliver a weekly social program for seniors who may be experiencing isolation or physical or mental health concerns. The Burnside Gorge Community Centre offers counselling, supportive and social programs and events for families and youth. In addition to drop-in activities, skill-based training and meal services, it offers a unique Family Self Sufficiency program. In this program, participants learn skills to become financially stable, independent and to build confidence in work and life-related skills. Burnside Gorge also outreaches to homeless families.
