Back

Victoria, BC - March 15, 2010 - Most people have heard the abbreviation "LPN" but what exactly does it mean? It stands for Licensed Practical Nurse, and describes a person who provides professional care to individuals in a wide variety of settings.

For those who are interested in a career in health care and who genuinely look forward to being able to help individuals both young and old, an LPN is a great career choice. It is a career that offers great job satisfaction, job security, benefits, versatility, and positive growth for the long term.

Not only can one look forward to a wide range of benefits as an LPN, but you can also enter the field with just one year of post-secondary training! UCQ Academy of Health is an accredited school that offers Practical Nursing diploma program. Upon graduation from a recognized Practical Nursing program in B.C. you are eligible to write the Canadian Practical Nursing Exam, apply for interim licensure, and can begin working on a tentative basis even before your test results are back.

For more information on how you can begin your LPN career, take a look at UCW Academy of Health's Practical Nursing diploma program.
